My husband owns 2 flats in Madippakam, Velachery. It's not far from the center and Velachery is one of the fastest growing places in Chennai.

Oh , great! The only thing - our flats are not furnished
Anyway, if you want, I can give you my hubby's mobile, you can discuss everything. If not ours, may be he can recommend something else for you. ( I'm new to the area still, just settling down, we got married a year ago, went to USA right away and came back to Chennai just about a month ago )

Hi Avril

Welcome to Chennai.

Generally you don't get furnished houses here and you will get a bare bone empty houses only.

Select your residence based on your work place so that you reduce travel time.

Have a nice stay in Chennai and weather will be better from mid June onwards.

Hi Avril,

Welcome to India Mike. Hope you get some helpful responses to your questions.

How long are you in Chennai for ? And the heat will be there for a little longer yet - then comes the great floods :-)

Cheers
Zoltan

velachery will de best option

welcome to India mike,

velachery will be best option because adyaar and T-nagar will be expensive as well as you can't find a furnished flat there also.traffic in velachery is modrate so you can expect less noise there.my collage campus is just beside velachery and its a wild life park so you can expect fresh air .

good luck.
