Hello forum
![]() My name is Luke, i have just completed my degree and have decided to set off on an adventure and explore the world. I am interested in world cinema, music (collecting, dj'ing and making), world literature, philosophy and adventure. I fly to Delhi in January and it will be my first time traveling solo so i am slightly nervous but very, very excited! I will be going on a 'gap tour' as soon as i arrive in Delhi, which will take me on a fifteen day trip stopping off in Agra, Jaipur, Pushkar, Udaipur, Mount Abu. Mumbai and finishing in Goa. I then have a two and a half month gap between my flight to Thailand to explore India at my leisure! I am hoping to spend a month or so in Goa and then make my way back up to Mumbai whilst exploring various places along the way. After that i will be traveling around Thailand, the Philippines, Cambodia, Vietnam, Japan and then stopping over in Sri Lanka before returning to England - the trip should take around a year I have joined the forum to meet some like minded travelers and find out some information about visa's, accommodation in Goa and places to see and explore between Goa and Mumbai. The weeks and months are flying by now and i am trying to get as organised as possible. Any general travel tips would also be much appreciated Cheers, Luke |

Welcome to India Mike
Sounds like an excellant plan!
I think you should look first at the visa section. There's a whole section about apply for a visa from the UK Applying for an Indian Visa in the UK: Your Questions and Experiences About visas for other countries you will be going to, I don't know, but you can google the countries to find out. Many don't require visas before arrival like India & you can get them when you arrive. But this isn't something you should leave to chance. The best part of your year, is you can tailor the trip as you go. Staying longer in places you like and shorter in places that you don't or are too expensive. Oh, don't forget a guidebook. Lots to choose from & nice to have when you have alot of time. Footprints, Lonely Planet (which alot of people don't like but I think is OK), lots of others. And it can answer alot of questions and help organize itineraries also. |

Thanks a lot for that!
I have a pretty flexible itinerary as i will be arrive mid January and won't have to leave until early April As my tour ends in Goa i plan on staying there for a short while and then slowly making my way back up to Mumbai. That Visa link is much appreciated, exactly what i was after - thanks! |
