Hello

Hi everybody,

I've been registered here at indiamike.com for a few weeks but have been mostly lurking around reading the great information here. I'm heading to India in a few weeks for a 3 week trip. My sister lives in Chennai and we'll be traveling around together (still don't have much pinned down plan-wise yet). I'm excited to be there already (and a bit nervous)! Looking forward to reading even more of the useful information here while planning!

Hi! No definite plans but short stays in Dehli, Agra and Jaipur and as my sister lives in Chennai we'll be around there a bit (Pondicherry, Mahabalipuram, etc.). We were hoping to see the Himalayas while there but are worried about time, any suggestions on where to see them in the north?

Hey,

If you're in south anyway, might as well travel a bit more and visit Hampi. you won't regret.

Himalayas are huge! Depends whether you just want to catch a glimpse of them, or actually trek a small peak. i suggest you find out if short 3-4 day treks are happening around the time of your visit, and go for one that suits your level.

If you just want to be up there, around them, look up Mcleodganj properly.

Thanks for the suggestions! I'd love to do some trekking but not sure my sister would be up for it, maybe I can talk her into it
