Hello IM

Hey people, I'm Alex. I live in Michigan, USA. Just finished high school a few months ago. Instead of going straight to college though, I was given the chance to take a gap year. I obviously said yes and have been eagerly planning my trip ever since. My brother also got to do a gap year and he did several countries in Europe. Personally I've always been intrigued by Asian and more specifically Indian and Nepalese culture so I chose to go there. First I wanted to do Japan then India and Nepal, but I realized that 2 weeks in Japan in expenses will equate to months in India/Nepal.
So yeah, I have an idea of where I want to go (I have a list of around 20 cities/hill stations/villages that I'll likely narrow down) and when I want to go, but nothing is concrete yet. I joined this forum to kind of get everything a bit more organized and obviously get some expert advice on my trip.
