Cool Hello IM, long time listener first time caller!

Hello,

I just wanted to give a hello to all you IM'ers. I found this site a couple weeks ago as I am planning a 5 month trip to India for Sept 06. Hours of scouring the internet have shown that this is by far the most active and best forum on India travel.

I think I have read about every thread on the board, and I am amazed at all the insight and help provided. As I have not been to India yet I doubt I will be posting much(except for maybe offering advice in the gadget and photography section) until my trip draws a little nearer and I start to really narrow in on an itinerary. Thanks

Thanks for the welcome you two.

Hawaiigrl I am not really sure why I am so attracted to India, but I have always had an unquenchable urge to go to there. I felt bad for not going a few years ago when I had the chance, but now that I am in a position to go again, and for at least 5 months maybe more, I surely will not make that same mistake. I think I tend to feel a constant lacking of both something inside me and something outside me(USA) that needs to be filled or at least found, and I have always had it in my head that it might be discovered in India, naive I know, but what can you do?

Well, whatever the reason for travelling to India...you will find that India is like no other place on earth. It will be like nothing you have ever done before. I went for the first time last year and I am preparing for my third trip this spring. I spent time reading up on what it would be like for the first trip and when I got off the plane on that hot night last May, I realized that there is no way to prepare for India, she just is....

oh and don't feel bad that you didn't go in the past, we all get where we need to go when we are ready for it
