Hello everyone from a new chap --- and another new chap too!

Hi all,

This isn't my first post but I just found the 'introduce yourself' forum.

So, hello to everyone. My name's Graeme Lloyd. I'm 34 years old and live in Dudley, West Midlands, England. I'm married to a wonderful lady called Kalpana (who's the same age as me - not 16

), and we have a 2 year old Son: James Vishnu Lloyd, with another one on the way (with six toes on each foot - which apparently is considered lucky in India?). Enough waffling...

Currently, I work as Software Engineer in Birmingham and spend my days mostling day-dreaming about retiring to Kerela! My Wife's from Hyderabad, Andhra Pradesh, and we met because although I am a Christian, I am more of a Christian spiritual mind (i.e. detaching from the material and embracing the Spiritual), and thus I realised that I had more in common with Hinduism and eventually found a Wife. There's a bit more to it than that but I don't want to make it sound like she was a mail-order bride (the postal service is notoriously unreliable and I preferred to collect in person), as I have visited India three times in the last five years and spent a total of five months there. So far my travels only extend to South India, although I have not must interest in visiting Goa as I'm not into the hippy scene, and whilst I appreciate it's not all about that, there's so many other places higher on the list.

Anyway, I'll shut-up for the moment and just say hi.

Hi, Graeme pointed me the direction of IndiaMike, so instead of starting another new thread, I thought I would just introduce myself on his.

My name is Vinod and I actually work with Graeme.
My parents are from India (Gujarat), but I was born and raised in England, but my wife is actually from India (Ahmedabad).

After I got married to someone over from India, I've started seriously thinking about retiring over there, but I've still got to look into it really... I'm not too sure how Ahmedabad is compared to other cities in India and Gujarat never really seems to be on the tourist routes, but it seems everytime I'm over there i meet loads of NRI (from England, Canada and New Zealand)...

anyways, while I writing this thread, I was wondering if anyone had used Ahmedabad airport... my in-laws live about half-hour from there, but I've heard it a lot worse then Mumbai airport in terms of currupt and arkward staff...
