I've been dreaming of a trip to India for years now. I've worn out a few Lonely Planets and was all set to spend a month in Rajastan in February 2009.

And then suddenly fate steps in and I'll be in Hyderabad for business for two weeks in July!

Now, the middle of southern India in monsoon season isn't how I planned to start my explorations of India, but it will be a welcome introduction to the country. Unfortunately, I can only travel for one week after my business trip and I'm figuring out how best to spend that time. But I do imagine I'll be back again and again and again.

This site has been a great help so far. Thanks to everyone for their contributions.

Welcome to Indiamike Hal2004. Yes - I too was planning a trip to India and employed in Toronto circa 1995 when a high tech business opportunity, from a most obscure and unheard of location - 'Itanagar', projected me suddenly half-way across the world to Delhi/Chandigarh and enough adventures, dramas & organized chaos that most people only see in a lifetime.

That business opportunity has long since dried up .... but other ventures and the passion for Indian travel has certainly not!
