Delhi late June early July
Aloha all,
I've wanted to visit India since I was in college and now I have this one window of opportunity to go. Unfortunately its going to be June/July this year or maybe not at all. After reading some of the posts about the summer heat in May and June, I'm having second thoughts. Has anyone been in Delhi around late June to early/mid July? Will it become bearable at that point? What can I expect in terms of heat/ rain? The charts marked July in Delhi light blue "monsoon", not sure what that means in real terms.

In real terms it means very hot, very humid and with very heavy bursts of rains. I found it a challenge, but the thing is, coming from Hawaii, you might be used to far higher temperatures than me. Coming in the monsoon does have advantages. I've been in Delhi during the monsoon and standing in the rain is a wonderful and unforgettable experience - plus of course you have wonderful mangoes in season!
Bottom line is that it depends on whether heat and humidity stops you from enjoying yourself.

Thanks for the advice Haylo and Moy. I'm still mulling this one over. Hawaii definitely has tropical heat, but we are also right in the path of the Pacific trade winds that blow all the humidity away, so the weather rarely gets unbearably hot and sticky for an extended time here. low to mid forty degrees C would definitely be a new experience for me.

.Be careful mate..
Delhi weather is also very unexpected after every shoer it means more humidity.....n like yours its of no mean to have a windy atmosphere as even one huge river also vanishing a dekhis temperature rises by a degree everyyear.....
I suggest you to keep a waterbottle and Glucose with you or the solution to beat the heat.
Thats how delhites do.
