Delhi, Agra, Varanasi in 2 weeks enough?

I will travel to India in october for 2 weeks.
My favorite location to see are: Delhi, Agra, Varanasi.
But I don´t know, if I have enough time to travel to Shimla too.
Or is it better to visite other places around Agra

Can You help me?

You MUST fit in Shimla ! If time is a constraint, then omit either Agra or Varanasi; or both.

Your schedule is doable. Over 2.5 weeks, we visited all three cities plus Khajuraho.

5 days Varanasi
2 days Khajuraho
3 days Agra
7 days in Delhi
2 days transportation between cities

Basically, we take it as it comes. No schedules, just wander and take it all in. I really wouldn't have changed anything in this "itinerary".

Although Shimla would disagree, I certainly would not take off Agra if you've never seen the Taj before.

As well, coming from the West and knowing what I know now, I would have been really disappointed if we had missed Varanasi. You'll never see anything like it anywhere else.

One thing to note is Delhi's pollution may take a toll. We would have loved to stay longer but after 4 days, our sinuses and throats were destroyed.

From Varanasi to Ambala Cantt., the nearest Railhead to Kalka, the convenient train appears to be 2317 Sealdah-Amritsar Akal Thakt Express, which runs bi-weekly & with just 6 stops in between:-
10 BSB VARANASI JN 1 21:15 21:25 767 1
11 SLN SULTANPUR 1 23:21 23:23 912 1
12 LKO LUCKNOW 1 02:35 02:50 1068 2
13 BE BAREILLY 1 06:25 06:30 1303 2
14 MB MORADABAD 1 08:00 08:15 1394 2
15 NBD NAJIBABAD JN 1 09:45 09:47 1492 2

While coming down you can take the NG Train from Shimla to Kalka Junction and from Kalka to New Delhi there are host of trains!!!!
