Heya, Im traveling to India the tail end of next year, just looking to network with people who have the same plans.

Hi Anthony, and welcome to IndiaMike.
It's great to hear about someone planning to stay in Delhi for a few weeks, so many people just fly in and dash off after a few days, but Delhi has a lot to offer. There are a lot of members who live in Delhi, both locals and expats, so closer to the time check out the Delhi Meetup Thread. These get togethers are a great opportunity both for those who live in Delhi and people who are passing through to have a good get together over a meal. The local guys arrange the restaurant, the ones I've been to have served great food, and they manage to wangle a good discount too!

Hey thanks for that message, it is great to hear their is a community out there so to speak. I have never been India before but it is my dream destination. And 09 is the year for it to become no longer a dream. I do however wonder, how to meet buddies/other travelers. Do you have any advice on pre networking before I leave.
Regards Ant ( birmingham ) x p.s you are from the midlands!! yay

There is a forum specifically for finding travel partners, so you can post there a bit nearer the time.
If you stick around on this board, you're also bound to come across people who are from Delhi. You might find someone who shares an interest with you, in which case you could email them for a chat about it - when you've been an active member for a while you can contact other members. I've found Delhi people so welcoming and they're a really friendly group. ![]() As well as the occasional London IndiaMike meetup, which is a bit too much faff for me to get to living where I do, there may also be one coming up around the Bristol / Welsh borders area, so keep your eyes open! |

Hi, I'm presently heading for Delhi and will stop there for a while. I'm planning to travel more often to India also so it might be possible that I'll be there next Nov/Dec, who knows! Welcome to IM!
