De-lurking

hiya

I have been lurking around the forums for a while, finally joined as a member a few weeks ago to start posting...

sooooo, presenting ME!!

i feel like i'm writing a personal here... hi, my name is maree, but i prefer ree. i'm a taurus, i like the color blue, and the feeling of sand between my toes....

haha! yep the above things are true but really i can't work out how to 'introduce' myself. i've been backpacking around a few times now, and have decided to up and leave! i've quit my job (as administrative manager of our family business), leaving the town that i've been living in (no loss there, moved here only for the business and it's just not really *me*, i guess).

i now have around 6 months, maybe more, maybe less (am recouping all the back pay) so have a reasonable though limited travel budget and an indefinite time frame. kicking off the trip in asia but the point of the trip is india. yairs. india. it's been my dream for the last few years. surprisingly with all the longing and thinking about the place, now that i'm finally heading off i'm actually a bit underwhelmed! i think that's just the last couple of years catching up on me.

i'm planning on a bit of study of yoga and meditation and hopefully can do something to give me more insight into ayurveda. i do realise that a month or two of study is just skimming the surface but i'm interested and willing and i have the intention that maybe it will result in a longer term plan in that direction.

so to sum up. i'm female. 32 (though not for long humph). a backpacker. travelling solo most probably. should be in india around june or july 08. i reckon this forum is pretty schmick and am generally just happy that i stumbled across it!

Welcome to IM ree. Know what you mean about those introduction things. Seems to me sometimes to be the equivalent of going to a alcoholics anonymous meeting, having to standup and say "hi, my names BB and its been at least 24 hours since my last bad joke.....

Anyway - good luck with the planning.
