Considering a move to India...Need Help Finding A Job.
I am a 29 y/o Black American male. I am currently a teacher in South Korea. I already got a contract offer from a University in Saudi Arabia, but I would seriously considering a move to India. I have been looking online for leads for any call center or language specialist/trainer positions. I haven't had any luck, so I am here looking for any assistance that anyone would be willing to offer. Any advice would be helpful.
On a separate note anyone with any knowledge on how tough it would be for a lighter skinned African American male finding a job. I know there are color issues in the rest of Asia but I'm not aware if the same dynamic is true in India. |

Coming to your first concern, i guess getting a job in current environment in language specialist / trainer position is not very easy. it depends on you qualifications as well. but let me tell you jobs in india would not be as lucrative as they are in saudi. ![]() Coming to your second concern, no one would deny you a job on the basis of you colour in india. you find quite a few lighter skinned / black people in india, but the number is too small. but coming to the core indian attitude towards coloured people, it is very hard to answer. no one really discriminates if you are a foreigner. i don't think you would have a trouble finding a job just because you are light skinned. it is your qualifications that really matter. regards, santosh saladi |

Search the web for placement consultants in Mumbai, there are quite a few. Call them, tell them what exactly you are looking for and send them your resume. I am sure something definitely will come from it.
In fact, lot of Americans are shifting to India for jobs and the life style is much better in India with the salary earned. Saudi? Unless you live in the American compound, it's a nuns life!! |

Check out http://www.alpconsultants.com/
Just do a Google on "Placement Consultants, Bangalore". You can search each city separately but your best bet would be Bangalore, Hyderabad and Chennai. |

I guess I have seen a couple of foreigners in trainer positions in call centers..They need people who know english, not as in knowing by learning , but knowing it as their first language. So consult big BPO call center firms like Convergys and their are a couple more..You should find a decent job
