Best places to travel in June
Hi, my name is Kelly and a friend and I are travelling through India in June for a month. Have heard that the weather is soo hot that the birds get heat stroke and fall out of the trees....Anyway was hoping someone could give us some information on the best areas to travel around during this time.

Hi Kelly, I was in India this past June and yes its extremely HOT in certain parts of the country and you also have to worry about Monsoon rains in other parts of the country.
After traveling throughout the country, the most comfortable parts were of course Himachal Pradesh(the mountains if you're into that) and for the urban setting I would reccomend Bangalore. Both places were absolutely perfect with temps around 75-85F and very little rain if any.
I was also in
Delhi-Extremely Hot 100+ sunny
Agra-Extremely Hot 100+ sunny
Varanasi-Hot 85+ cloudy/rain
Bodhgaya-Warm 80-85 cloudy/rain
Mumbai-Hot 85+ cloudy/rain
Mysore-Beautiful 75-85/sunny
Shimla-Beautiful 75/sunny
Manali-Beautiful 75/sunny
And all throughtout the Sangla Valley and that region-Cool/Warm-mostly sunny
Hope this helps.

Hi Kelly,
It is true that India can be extremely hot in June and temperaturs of upto 42 degrees celcius are common. Unless you are travelling here for business which requires you to stay at a particular place (say Delhi), I would suggest that you go to any of the hill states. Himachal, Sikkim, J&K would be mostly pleasant while some of the higher altitude areas can even get cold. Middays would generally be warm during June, no matter where you travel in India. I have travelled extensively to Himachal so let me know if you require more information...I will be too glad to help.
Regards,
Raj

A glorious time to be in Ladahk, I'd say.
One of the most amazing places on the entire planet, let alone just India...

You would be better off in Himalayas. OK, if you like rains, Western Ghats or the Kerala-Konkan coast would be another option. Perhaps northeast too. anywhere else could be difficult.
