Hi Gav92,

Welcome to IndiaMike.

I have been looking out for an old Nihari shop in old Delhi without any success. This Nihari shop is said to be unique as it is continuing the tradition of passing on the day's left-over Nihari to next day since last 200 years.

Have you got any idea about this shop.

PS: I am not a foreigner.

The locality is the same... I was told that it is some where at the left hand side of the Fatehpuri mosque (not necessarily close to it)

So you're sort of an unofficial & friendly tour guide? My niece is arriving with her college friends in October and may need a reliable, professional to show them the 'ins & outs' of Delhi. Be careful though, they're a handful and can get a bit naughty after a few nips of the Old Monk.

Hello,
I am an active alien. What are your top recommendations for tourists in Delhi, gav?

hello, actually there are a lot of places whic you should definitely see. for example, if you love visiting monuments, then you should go to places like humayun tomb, qutub minar, red fort and many such places like that.
and if you want to go for shopping, then try karol bagh, nehru place, sarojini nagar market... you will get good quality stuff at affordable and low rates.
or you could visit even gurgaon if you want to see quality malls.. and if you are just looking for place for casual hangouts, then try near my place safdarjung enclave.
you are free to ask anything more if you want to know like restaurants and other stuff. hope that helped. have a nice day

You mean the one opposite to Dilli Haat...I guess the fourth metro station from Central Secretariat....Naah...I won't get the stuff I am looking for there...though sometimes I do buy spices from INA.

Other place I have been looking for is the haveli, which witnessed wedding ceremonies of Bahadur Shah Jafar's son...any idea where it would be?

Oh that's nice of you indeed. They are on a very, very limited budget (you know college kids). In fact they're all bringing their pup tents and solar cookers with them to help cut costs. Oh btw - you wouldn't have a large courtyard at your place & where they could put up for a few days(weeks) would you?

yes, i can understand it. budget can be a problem sometimes. and yes, i actually dont have a large courtyard to accommodate. but i know a lot of rooms for rent near my place which are quite cheap, and also pretty decent ones. plus, its going to cost each of them more lesser as they can share the room. so just let me know if you need any help with it. have a nice day!

Why do I catch the faintest whiff of a jape about the place?
