another newbie

Hi everyone,
Got a six month trip to India coming up: October to the following March. I reckon I'll be on IM regularly, checking up what all you old hands have to say. Looking forward to chatting and swapping info on all sorts.
Here's a picture of my last India experience - exploring the intricacies of my native language with some kids near Kalimpong.

Hi Torry,
Plans? What are they?! Because I've got so much time and have so much to see I'm trying not to think about details. That said, because of the time of my arrival in New Delhi (early October) I'll have to do some places before others. I'll probably go up to, Shimlar, Haridwar, Rishikesh, Amritsar etc during the first month or so to avoid the cold. Then Rajasthan, Gujarat...? I'll be in Darjeeling at some point in November or December (which will be cold, I know!) so I'll probably go there via Varanasi. Then say hello to friends in Kolkata before heading south via Sri Lanka, Kerala, Goa and Mumbai to get back to Delhi for my flight home.
That's all the planning I think I can take right now!
