From Spain we donot have direct flights to India, so I must fly through Paris, London, Frankfurt, Rome etc.,. Last two times I did it with Finn Air: Madrid - Helsinki - Delhi/Bombay, everything was great and the price was probably the cheapest at that time (around 600-650 Euros).
Last time with Swiss (shared flight with Canadian something..) was a delay of 12 hours in Zurich airport because a window was broken or so.., In Heathrow you need half day for the connection and still worse are the terribly narrow seats on the BA airplanes. Unfortunatelly Alitalia is no longer flying to India because I liked this company ( I'm probably the only one). Next 9th July I'm going back to India and again with Finn Air (720 euros) going to Bombay and coming back end of August from Delhi. Jorge |

Who has the best veggie meals?
Indian Airlines is ok in that respect, just because I prefer bad Indian food to ok western food. Alitalia food when I flew a decade ago was terrible, they just gave me some bland steamed veggies ![]() |

The meals on AI were ok for plane food. But it didn't compensate for getting flown to New Jersey instead of Chicago (No, just "anywhere" in the U.S. won't do) then being put on a bus to an airport hotel for over an hour (to the wrong hotel) only to FINALLY get to a hotel for 3 hours "sleep" (no food, middle of night) in order to catch another delayed flight out and eventually get to Seattle 2 days late! Not so much as an apology.
Nope, I'll pay the 100-200 bucks different to take an airline that flies me where it says they will.

I would try and avoid Kuwait Airways.
Although it was cheap, the food wasn't brilliant, just after the safety instructions they put on a prayers tape which didn't inspire confidence, no alcohol on the flight, about a third of the plane on one side was taken by two hospital beds with patients(not a pretty site), there's a quite a long wait at Kuwait before departing for Delhi, on the way back the flight was delayed by two hours, but apart from that it was OK. |
