What's the "best" way to get from London to Jodhpur?!

My wife and I have a week to do Jodhpur/Kumbhalgarh/Udaipur in early April 2007 (we did Delhi/Agra/Jaipur last April). But we're in our 50's, and we like things to go smoothly. I can't see an obvious way of getting from London (BA day flight arrives Delhi 2300, overnight flight arrives 0615) to Jodhpur. We can't rely on catching the IA flight at 0715 (?). Is there an Alliance Air flight at 1100? There's a long wait until the 20.50 train (guess we could take the Virgin flight arriving 1115 to make it a bit easier). I suppose we could take a day room at a central Delhi hotel (which one?), and waste time shoppping, but are there any better suggestions from IM experts? Arrive at Mumbai? Do Udaipur first?

if you have a flight arriving delhi at 2300 and dont want to avoid Delhi, the 0715 to Jodhpur should be good.

Of course, you will have to spend about 5/6 hours at the domestic terminal, making allowances for customs and immigration and transit to the domestic airport. should be easily do-able.

arriving 0615 is too late for the 0715 domestic flight.

With respect to Capt Mahajan, spending 8 hours at Delhi Airport(when our body clock says we're meant to be sleeping) is precisely the kind of start to a holiday we're hoping to avoid!
