Thinking of going to India in January 2010. Specific travel dates are flexible.
Any suggestions about what is peak season and non-peak in that month? Any recommendations of fares for that month. Is February a better time to travel for cheaper fares?

From US, to India, peak season begins about Dec 15th through Jan 26th (coincide with end of semester and beginning of intersession)Feburary tends to be lower I do not know what the impact of Kumbh Mela would have on international flights to India. Here is mid-Jan fare to BOM from NYC on Kuwait Airways. Quote:
Hope this gives you an idea of what is the rock bottom fare as of few minutes ago.

Feb / March fares definitely tend to be lower. Republic day falls on Jan 26th and there will be one bout of mini-holidaying around that (after Christmas, New Year and Sankranti holidays).
After Jan 26th, holiday travel drops as the exam season sets in. ribhu |
