San Francisco to Chennai/Bangalore

Hello,

I wanted to get a feel of the current fares for travel from SFO to Chennai/Bangalore in October.

The cheapest ticket I found is by Cathay pacific for $1072 (SFO to Chennai). Does this sound like a reasonable price?

Btw, what's up with makemytrip.com these days, the prices are twisted.

Any suggestions/comments would be helpful.

See if you can find World Travel Club via Google; maybe they have good fares this year. I think they use Emirates. They are located in the SFBay Area and are good friends of mine.

I think that is a decent price. You could probably shop around chinatown and get a slightly better deal on China Airlines via Taipei. SFO is one of those cities where there is a strong bucket-shop/consolidators market for unpublished inventory and Malaysian,Thaiairways and China compete fiercely.

I am also trying to get from SFO to Chennai in December (19th). Any leads on cheap fares? Best I can find is Cathay pacific for $1600 but I know there has to be something better out there. Air China?

Dec13-14 onwards fares go up to India, because all folks go home after schools close (College/K-12)
