Reconfirming flights with e ticket from ebookers

Hello,

Sorry for silly questions but I can't seem to find the answer I want anywhere and its the first time I have travelled abroad without a parent

How do I go about reconfirming my flight (I'm going with Air India)? I didn't book directly through Air India - I got my flight through ebookers.com

Do I phone Heathrow airport to reconfirm? Can anybody direct me to a phone number?

You should not be too worried. Use the following link just to reconirm your flight details. Just key your E-Ticket number and the last name.

What makes you think you have to reconfirm your flight? I never have, though admittedly I've never flown Air India.

Suggest that if you want to be absolutely certain, you contact AI to ask them direct.

Reconfirmation is required if you have missed a connecting flight.

If not you dont have to worry.

Thankyou everybody. I just keep reading on some sites that you should confirm flight before you go away? I just want to make sure I am doing everything correctly as I have saved literally every single spare money all year and would hate to cock up somewhere along the line!

I don't know what happened to re-confirmation; I just woke up one morning and found it wasn't there any longer!

It used to be vital to reconfirm one's return travel, for international flight, on pain of getting to the airport and finding they had given your seat to someone else if you didn't. Then, on one trip, I rang up to reconfirm, and they said they didn't do that any longer

These days, it is increasingly online, and checking in online the day before really eases one's passage at the airport.

I tried to phone theur UK number just now to reconfirm the flight. The lady on the other end didn't seem to understand that I wanted to reconfirm my flight and I couldn't really understand her. She said the flight is on time and she said I am not on it when I gave my last name?! Even though my booking is right in front of me?! But whenever I spelt my name out again and again and she still did not understand why I was phoning!!!

So frustrating! I just hope everything will be okay this Friday

I really did not mean this to come across as offensive at all so please don't think this!

I tried the checkmytrip.com but my record locator number is longer than 6 digits so its not letting me do this!!

That lady on the phone is making me real paranoid now though I expect she couldn't understand me and vice versa.

I have been exactly in the same head spin . If the tickets originated in the UK ,no reconfirmation is required but you might have to reconfirm on the return leg . Calm down and try not to worry , have fun

p.s a lot of the larger airlines have scrapped re-confirmation entirely .

The good part is when the tension lifts and you are finally on your way , party time
any way I have used e bookers on numerous occasions and never had a problem ,they are a good reputable company .No problem ,as i think ,neither do you

Luci, no need to do anything. Reconfirmation no longer exists. This was something that needed to be done many years ago before the era of online ticketing had begun. The printout that you got from ebookers is all that is required.

Have a great trip!

I've learned to always call the airline and confirm that the booking is in THEIR system, if the ticket was booked through a reseller website. Once they confirm that it exists, check if they have a reconfirmation policy. Most don't.
