ps2 to india
Hi guys
i'm going living with my girlfriend in India, I wanna take my ps2 with me but i'm not sure if it's a good idea. I'd be taking the ps2, 3 controllers, 20 games would it be a problem with customs here in the UK or over in India. I don't wanna get stung for import tax over there. some games are copies is it a good idea to take them or will they not bother TIA |

I don't think you should get the copied games, you can purchase them in India and dispose them later..
The hardware should not be a problem as its quite old technology and used..ofcoure you should keep in mind the weight and fragility of the object in question.. |

Are you talking about a origianl PS2 or a modded one ?
For modded one, you can get pirated games here for around 50 rs which is little more than a $. If its an original console, the games are around 1000-1500 rs which is around $25 approx. People who have travelled a lot overseas would be able to tell you more on the customs part. However i think, it should not be an issue if you show it as your luggage.

A heap of CDs or electronic kit (like several of the same thing) might attract attention.
Normal stuff for personal use will not. Stop Worrying! ![]() (but do go on asking; we're here to put your mind at rest)

So the 20 DVD's can be put in a CD/DVD pouch and then into some luggage

A friend of mine had a whole bunch of perfectly legitimate copied CD's for personal use confiscated at customs where we live. The choice was either make a big a stink about it with hours if not days of hassle, or forget about it. He sensibly opted for the latter.
But so, yes, I take it it may be a problem. He had also traveled half the world with them; had picked up or made some copies on the way that might have been deemed pirated unless very closely scrutinized, I guess. The question again is how much trouble you want to put into proving your case.
