Hi

We are traveling from Jaipur to New Delhi to Bangkok on the one day, and are not sure if we will make connecting flights even if flights are both with Air India and both from terminal 3.

Can anyone shed some light on the logistics and practicality of moving around including customs and baggage and if we should be looking at an alternative.

We are leaving Jaipur at 11 am arriving 11.50 am in Delhi.

We are meant to depart Delhi 13.40 pm for Bangkok.

Thanks in advance

Hello,

Too close if you ask me, You might want to widen the gap if possible as with fog these days you never know of unexpected delays.

It is an admissible layover i.e > 90 minutes. The question is, is the reservation for both flights in the same PNR ? If so, then it is AI's responsibility.

However given their Customer Service in the event of a missed connection, Anything is possible

Thanks for your responses.

Both flights are Air India under the one booking number, but like your comments imply customer service may not be in our favour if we do not connect.

We are seriously considering driving from Jaipur to Delhi then taking the remaining Delhi to BKK flight in order to make the all important Delhi to BKK segment. Do we need to advise Air India that we will not be on first flight from Jaipur to Delhi if same PNR number?

We have unsuccessfully tried emailing Air India without response regarding connections. Are we best to get Indian travel agency or hotel to manage when we are there?

Thanks

If they (AI) cancels your DEL-BKK segment, I'd not be surprised. It is a matter of SOP in the US if you drop or ignore the 1st segment, for the airline to cancel the subsequent segments.

If I were you, I'd that the Jaipur-Delhi and make it Air India's headache to have you reach BKK, because you are in the same PNR. Read the Contract of Carriage for AirIndia for clues on their liability.

Thanks for the advice.

We will take the Jaipur flight to Delhi and cross our fingers that the Delhi flight to BKK is running late.

Unfortunately we will need to collect our luggage between flights. (We have checked with Air India New Delhi and Jaipur. Do you know approx how long it takes to move through domestic Delhi terminal 3 arrival then terminal 3 departure, collect luggage /check in and customs?

Also if we miss the flight is it likely we would have any say with regards to the flight offered. The choices are quite limited if we miss the flight. (We will purchase another ticket from Delhi ourselves if required.)

Regards

I dont think so. The Jaipur-Delhi-BKK route is domestic-->international; no customs. You can and you should insist on luggage being checked through to BKK.

Do let us know how you make out on this trip.
