Manage my booking, BA

Am I the only one not being able to change the date of my flight, upgrade class of travel etc, online at manage my booking?

I have talked to BA about this several times and they say it could malfunction and they cannot do anything about it. That's the way things are... but, they say I am more than welcome to do any changes on the telephone! Obviously yes, since in additional to what a change costs, they also charge a service fee when doing any change on the telephone.

If the class (eg cheapest) of your ticket does not allow change then the options will not be available on the site.

Having said that, the wretched site seems to have a mind of its own as to what it allows. It seldom gives trouble under my name, but, whilst allowing Mrs N to manage her booking it does not allow he online check-in.

Having found the booking, afterselecting "check-in online" it then says it is retrieving the booking ...and then fails to find it. Every times she travels.

Pain in the neck. No point complaining to BA about it. All you get is automated replies from a brainless monster.

Last December, I travelled to India with a BA e-ticket.

End of February,I decided to stay one month extra and to change my return date on line.
All was going when till the step : select the new date of travel (or something like that). In the scroll menu, the year 2006 was not even available!
Had to do everything by phone - took more then 1 hour waiting on the line - and yes, paid extra money.

I phoned the executive club, sent them a fax and got a reply 'we transfered your comments to the appropriate service'. Still waiting for an answer

It does allow upgrade and other changes since I have already once upgraded the class of travel. They give different explanations every time I speak to them: manage my booking may not be working since I have upgraded my ticket; since my city of departure is different than city of arrival, that could also be the reason why it is not working, or the standard one... sometimes it does not work.

kailash: Why do they make you pay when there is no other alternative available than making any changes by the phone!? That is why I want this function to work because I would like to avoid any further expenses...

Diplomacy,

my booking allowed me to change my return flight by paying 100 euros.

I want some money back and this is the difference between doing it on line and doing it by phone 'more expensive option'.

Wait and see!

kailash35,

That is precisly what I mean! They encourage you to use the tools online and make any change on the internet instead by the phone... and when it's THEIR fault those tools are not working, why should they charge you if you have to make a change when there is no other option available?

Was it problematic to change the ticket? Did you call their office in India?

It was very easy to change the ticket by phone. I called the Delhi office, gave them my new travel date, they said there were available seats, gave them my visa card details and done!
In the next 5 minutes, i had my new e-ticket in my mailbox.

I made no fuss at that time.

Now I'm back home and contacted BA from here.
