Malaysian Airlines LAX-MAA Has anyone taken Malaysian Airlines from the US west coast to India? On my last trip, I met an Indian couple from the US who told me the "best" deal is "super economy" class on Malaysian air to India. Anyone ever tried them out? Business class is especially cheap, compared to everyone else.

Not sure how they do from the west coast but from the east coast Air France was the cheapest thing going this summer (had to watch for a short sale they had).

Malaysian Airlines is among the best long haul airlines out there. I just took it couple of weeks ago from LAX and had a great experience. The best deal was an Air India code share ticket (that flies you on Malaysian). However, I flew back on Singapore Airlines, which was better than Malaysian.

My new love in airlines. Last trip out was just this jaunt, very nice indeed. Have your agent swing freebies like meals and refresher hotel stays. I didn't want to leave the hotel till I saw what it would cost me!! The flights into India are much less posh as with all airlines I have flown with (SIA, etc.). Malaysia is super too though expensive compared to India..

I use an Indian ethnic agent in LA. It costs only about 50 more and it gets some handholding and some perks. Remember the Blacken Rule though. All consolidator tickets are the property of the consolidator and if they go broke you are screwed. Doesn't happen often but if it does contact me for some survival ideas. Cheers..
