I'm going to India in March and the cheapest airlines (from Heathrow - Delhi) were Gulf Air and Jet Airways...both about the £300 return mark...bargain!!

Jet Airways, Swissair, and British Airways (among others no doubt) were doing amazingly cheap deals until very recently.
Check into it now.

jazzo,
Try cheapflights.co.uk. Last week they were showing Air India flights departing mid-Feb from £270. Yes, I know I've only just come back. ![]() EDIT: to DELHI I mean, should mention that...duh...

Heathrow-Mumbai is nearly always the cheapest, try calling Southall Travel, they usually have some VERY GOOD fares, a friend got a 200 pound return not long after the Mumbai bombings.

Adding my usual warning about Southall Travel. Nearly ruined my first India trip. The airline changed the flight schedule, but ST failed to inform me (which it is their responsibility to do). My tickets were worthless and they couldn't book me on an alternative flight. Didn't tell me that, just kept saying "we're waiting for confirmation on your new ticket", until finally I figured it out.
I ended up cancelling and rebooking which cost me £100 more per ticket, and they claimed it would take 6 weeks to refund my money on the original flights. Got trading standards involved in the end. |

They may have learnt their lesson.
I got a call from them a week before I was due to depart, I missed the call, their message said I needed to contact them ASAP as my ticket had been cancelled, I was panicking, I called, but was told someone else would call me, I waited all day. Then they called and said my return flight had been cancelled and I had been rebooked on another flight 30 minutes before the original one, my return flight was 5 months away. |

I bleeding hope they have learned their lesson.
Every time I fly out/back in to Heathrow T3 they taunt me with their ads...over the security queue, on the side of the baggage reclaim things. All those lovely cheap flights I'm too scared to book. ![]() |

I'm looking for a one-way ticket for now,how much do you think i can get a one-way ticket for? Would £150-200 be out of the question?
Also it's ok if i fly in with a one-way ticket right?Or will they require a return to let me in...i think it's different for each air carrier right? Thanks for future replys again, this forum is great ![]() |

On one-way flights, I just left some thoughts here and onwards: Cheap flights to NY/Washington .
On the need for an outbound ticket, this won't be dependent on your carrier I don't think no, but on your nationality and/or country of visa application rather. It's not required for most I think, but some (notably Australians, for instance) report it is for them. Your airline, travel agent, embassy all should no doubt be able to tell you about this. If you're looking for a cheap ticket, you should really get scouting the web, calling travel agents, and such, now, btw. Don't waste your time here. Air travel isn't my strong point, but you'll find some sites for it in the "travel links" link in my signature (post #3 above). Last edited by machadinha : Feb 5th, 2009 at 05:24. |
