London - Goa Nov 09

Im wanting to fly out gatwick - Goa and cant frind a direct flight - they all stop in Mumbai, is this typical? Also how long do these stop off's take?

Also average price is £450/£500, is this reasonable? flights in March (now) are much cheaper why's that? Im new to flying on my own and cant understand it

Any advice?!

March isn't season in Goa. It'll be pretty hot , so the demand is less, hence low flight fares

Thomas Cook and Monarch are the only companies that fly direct to Dabolim.
I was due to book with Thomas Cook for Nov this year but unlike last year where they accepted a deposit this year they want payment in full.
Both times I have been to Goa I have flown direct so I have no advice to give regarding the Mumbai and then change flights - but I am looking at doing it this way this year as it's looking a lot cheaper than Thomas Cook.

Changing planes at Mumbai is very simple - there's a free bus connecting the international and domestic terminals .Just join the queue and hop on.It takes about 15 mins.

There's supposed to be a a numbered ticket system but as so often nobody bothers and nobody cares.

Remember you've got to clear customs and immigration when disembarking from your international flight so I wouldn't recommend less than 2 hours between the flights.
