Know a good agent for Int'l flight in Chennai?
Would be grateful for a recommendation of a competent travel agent in Chennai who could book me a fligh from Chennai to NYC - Jetairs says would be cheaper to use a local agent than to buy on the web or on phone.
Not sure of the rules - so please pm the details if not allowed to be posted. |

My experience is that it is cheaper to book online, direct with the airline. At least for BA, which I regularly use.
However, here's a travels company for you... Travel Exchange, 29 CP Ramaswamy Road, Alwarpet. phone 2498 5533, 2499 7147 Oh, and the rules... Nobody is allowed to advertise their own business or seek or solicit business on the site. In fact travel pros are not even allowed to be members except in 100% personal, non-business capacity. Everybody is allowed to pass on information and recommendations. Sure, that means I can give you the above name, but the guy who owns the business (if a member, and I have no reason to suppose they are) cannot. That's because travel agents etc etc and their dodgy self-recommendations, slagging off of competitors, etc etc have driven us all mad. That's also why we never accept a first post from a new member telling us how wonderful (or dreadful) some business is. We just can't tell that it is genuine. We've seen too many that weren't.

If you like to receive European quality attention, try
http://www.inside-india.com/ of Auroville. They offer lowest fares available to Europe and Americas all the time. |

No need to visit. do it online. or by phone. tickets are e-tickets anyway. It's German owned and managed. so it is good (I am not German). I have used it.
And Chennai-Auroville is two and half hours max, on East Coast Road. Edited later: that is what you said too, almost... Last edited by Sama : Nov 26th, 2007 at 22:35. |

A pro driver will do it in two, easily. I prefer to take it a little easy, with a tea break or two
