Int'l Flight Dilemma (US - India)
Interesting Flight dilemma: I want to fly to Delhi and back from Mumbai. The two best flights are to India on American (to Delhi non stop from chicago) and back from India on Delta non stop Mumbai to JFK).
However no travel search engine will pair these two flights. Purchase apart (one way) they are over $1,000 each. But round trip they are under $1500. Sites like Orbitz, Kayak and expedia will pair all different airlines together but apparently delta and american cannot be paired together. Even when I force orbitz to do multi-city ord-del and bom-jfk non-stop it doesn't provide the American/Delta routing and says no non-stops are available. Any ideas on how to get around this??? (Another reason I like this pairing is that I can upgrade to businesss with Miles and a small fee on both of these airlines.) |

I too use travel websites sometimes but in the long run travel agents are the way to go and they can usually match prices online anyway.
About a year ago i had a korean air flight and they went on strike and my travel agents worked nonstop for hours calling everyone she could and finially got me on a cathay pacific flight for no extra cost. (yes!!) Its nice to have personal service and sit down and talk to someone if you have questions. Good Luck |

Contiental has the best flight from Newark to Delhi non-stop. Just buy this return ticket and get a domestic ticket, mumbai to delhi, for when you leave, try airdeccan.net

You can fly Lufthansa or British Airways, both these airlines have flights from major gateways from USA. If you are looking for a good deal, do not call the normal travel agents, you have to find a travel agent that caters to Indian market. Checkout this site it has a list of travel agents that cater to Indian market, read the travel agent review before you contact them http://cheiron.tzo.com/
