India to Maldives????

Hi All,

I am planning a trip to India in March 2010 and considering a side trip to Maldives if the price is right. My understanding is that Maldives in general is quite expensive however if flying from India for a 3 or 4 day trip, what would cost be like in March?

Any comments, tips about Maldives and cost would be appreciated.. thanks!

Kitty792 welcome to Indiamike. All I can remember about Maldives is that when I was a transit passenger in Colombo there was a notice that said Indian visitors do not need visa.

But then why not search for fare on an Indian portal like makemytrip.com or zoomttra.com? That would give some idea about the fare.

I am told that the cheapest flights are out of Sri Lanka..

As far as I know not the flight, but the accommodation would be the problem. There are no budget places. If anybody can find one, please inform me. The Maldives are on my wish list

40-70 USD min. & the last correspondent said he couldn't even find 40 on Male, Kaliyug..
