Help me find a cheap flight from Addis Ababa to Bombay !!!

The cheapest i've been able to find (need a return) is $940 flying on Emirates. Any improvements on the price would be greatly appreciated as I'm on atight budget!!!!

Ethiopian airlines says 9563 ETB and then a 5 percent discount on selected dates.

That is around 800 USD, isnt it?

Which site did you find this price? Did you search for return? Ethiopian Airlines website quotes 14,000 ETB which is $1200 for a return flight

I selected Ethopia as my location and looked for dates (arriving Mumbai from Addis Ababa mid March and leaving mid April). Besides this 9563 ticket, there were others around 11000, and, if I remember correctly, were also on 5% discount

I haven't had a chance to look into this properly yet but is there anyway you could get to Nairobi? (e.g. overland or cheap flight). There are usually much cheaper fares available from there.

Also remember that if you can get a hold of a cheap fare from Addis to anywhere in the middle east (e.g. with Emirates to Dubai) then you can get a separate ticket with the Low-cost airline Air Arabia onwards to Bombay (from Sharjah) for around $100 one way (inc. tax!!). There are regular quick busses from Dubai to Sharjah.

Incidentally Air Arabia also flys from Nairobi to Sharjah but this is quite pricey at around $200 cheapest for a one way!

Thanks Dacoit, I did know about Air Arabia, but unfortunately its not an option as the plane ticket is for an Ethiopian citizen and i think the Indian embassy requires a return from addis ababa.

But i'm quite happy with the $655 fare (most i saw were over $1000!)

Got it! Glad to be of some help. 650 does sound fairly decent when all is considered.

On a side note... I'm always impressed with how many destinations Air Arabia are now offering in India! (even on smallish regional places like Coimbatore, Nagpur etc.). I think on one of my future trips I may plan a trip from Europe to Coimbatore via Sharjah).
