| I'm confused. Is it that nthGlas thought it left at 0935, but it actually leaves at 1330? If so, then the extra four hours leaves him with plenty of time to, err... shop! Oh dear, it's only nine weeks since I was on that plane, and I don't remember... yes, it sounds about right; we came home as it was getting light, not in the middle of the night. |

![]() You can suspect if you like, but I've done this particular deed 3 times in the past year, all in the same terminal , and based on that, I'm guessing it might be a scramble. I think you could only make it if there are no hiccups in the system: the first flight isn't late, there aren't several other planes arriving at the same time so that the security lines are long, you don't turn left instead of right, that sort of thing. nthGlas, this entire transfer is with hand luggage only, so it doesn't matter if you've checked something through or not. And they did check passports again at the gate at least once that I remember. (...to catch the people who wrote evil things in their passports between flights. Happens all the time, right?) Good luck with it, and if you've got shopping time, do remember Nick's Toblerone. ![]()

Nick: BA is in deep trouble because of chaotic planning. nthG: Since you had not mentioned the specific month, I picked recent dates. Here is what BA has done viz BA035. Till October, they fly LHR-MAA in the afternoons 5 a week (x5) on 777 metal. In Nov they move it to x4 a week and move the flight to morning. Dec/Jan they change it to 930AM and up it to x5 week.

| For a time, it was seven times a week... then they cut back and also employed a smaller plane. I never remember the plane seven-something-something models, but it used to be the very big one, with wing tips, an upstairs, and a first-class cabin; now it is the big one, with no upstairs and no first class. By the way; I had an email with a special offer of return to London, Business class, Rs.1,04,910, for that weekend only. I didn;t rush to get the credit card out. |
