Yes, although from country which is closer to Islamic world than to Europe, Turkish airlines are quite good, clean, comparable with such airlines like Austrian or Lufthansa. You can buy electronic ticket by credit card, it is safe and guaranteed by Türkie bankasi. Airways from former Soviet Union are much worse.

I have a German friend who used them once. She said that the service was quite good.

They're fine

Comparing them to Lufthansa is maby a bit over the top, but they are fine and in no way comparable to the turkish chartercompanies which should be avoided at any cost).

Hi,
I have flown with Turkish Airlines in 2005 from Nuremberg (Germany) to Delhi via Istanbul.

Everything is ok with this airline, food was ok, security seemed to be ok, flight was in time.

No big difference to European airlines like KLM...

Best thing is: You can check-in online, so you can reserve the seat (shown on a plane map) that you want.

I have already booked a flight with Turkish Airlines to Delhi for March 2007

Greetings Mio

Oh I'm happy to see that finally someone else is appreciating them too! Turkish Airlines are my latest airline "discovery", I flew twice with them and I intend to stick with them in the future also. It's obviously not luxury, but everything went fine and I had no complaints whatsoever. The only (small) inconvenience that I can think of is that in Istanbul airport they seem to be in the habit of changing gates too many times before they decide which one it is, so you might do some running around, but other than that they are really fine and it's very good value for money. Not to mention that right now they have the cheapest deals on some Europe - India routes, apart from Aeroflot (which I don't really recommend...).

I have flown Turkish Airlines within Turkey and they are reliable enough. The only thing that flipped me was the pilot's way of reversing the plane...he just zoomed it backwards as if it were a tiny car in the middle of an empty field!!

Other than that the flight was most comfortable :-)

I have flown many times with THY, as I was working for the Turkish government for a while. No problems at all.
