There is actually a few scheduled international flights to Dabolim these days, from Germany, Sri Lanka and maybe some more, but I haven't heard of any from England.

I agree with Anders there r no such direct international flights from uk(atleast i could not find 1, did a lot of search few month bk) but you have Charter Flights , if you do some research- they can be a real bargain.

It will be cheaper and easier to just get return flight to/from Mumbai, then either use the train or plane to get to/from Goa.

It seems OK to me, used it 8 times now, once you work out the location of the bar in the departure lounge (you can also smoke in the bar), it's quite relaxing.

That's a good price for january, you may find one about £20 cheaper if you search hard, but personally, I'd take that price.

Make sure you're sure of your dates though, I always seem to find a way of adding a couple of extra days, though I'm happy to leave direct from work, and arrive home just in time to go to work, the extra days are worth the hassle.

Thanks for advice, was thinking of doing just that, leave after an early shift back evening before an early shift, was wondering whether i was pushing it.

I'd always take the extra day(s) on holiday, even if it means being tired when I get home.

My first trip had me arriving home 2 days before work so I could rest a little, but I couldn't stop thinking about all the things I could have done with them 2 days in India.

I also find I can sleep much better on the flight home, no idea why, I could take a dozen sleeping tablets on the way to India but wouldn't sleep for more than an hour.

london-Goa-London

Hi try Srilankan Airways
Good Connection within less than 2hrs
it was cheap too
Rs.32,500 (401pounds) and this was Goa-London-Goa via Colombo
3 times a week to Goa.

2 flts from LHR daily. I think if more than 8hrs but upto 24hrs in tansit, it gives free accomodation and meals.

Phone London Srilankan 208 538 2001 (hounslow TW3 1HY)

Remember Goa-Bombay or any other domestic sector within India.
Airlines (usually low cost or budget airlines) might try to lure you with tempting fares like just Rs.99 or Rs.500 or Rs.1000. But it does not include fees and taxes which comes to around Rs.1250 one way and these taxes & fees are almost same to all destinations in India o/w.
So, if a advertised fare is just Rs.99 please add Rs.1250
(it includes Airport tax, Fuel surcharges, Congestion charges, handling charges etc)
