My flight is routed via Paris, so it is definitely Air France. The only reason I booked with them is that as Kabaary says they are very cheap, the savings are so great that I could afford three "Air France" trips to Delhi for the price of two with a decent airline.

It won't be fun, but I'd rather have that extra trip to India.

I found Lufthansa rolled out the crappy planes for the Frankfurt to Delhi leg. Toronto to Frankfurt wasn't bad. Frankfurt to Delhi was some old plane with orange upholstery and 26" TVs hanging from the ceiling.

Wish I hadn't read that...

I booked with frequent flier miles through US Air and couldn't seem to work my way onto anything other than Lufthansa. Haven't actually flown with them before and have heard mixed reviews...

Last thing I would have expected from the Germans!

My apologies for drifting a bit off topic but I heard that their business class has been upgraded recently (once again, receiving mixed reviews). Any experience on the routes with the most recent configuration?

Where are you guys finding these cheap flights? I am looking for a flight to Ahmedabad from Toronto, and the best I could find is around CAD$1300.

I found a flight from Heathrow to Mumbai for around $575 but I can't find a cheap enough flight from Toronto to Heathrow.

The cheapest from Toronto to Heathrow seems to be British Airways or maybe Delta Airlines from Montreal to Heathrow. Both around 550 Euros.

Spike, It sure sucks when that happens.. I think its best if you cancel the original ticket even if it costs as much as 100 euros and rebook it. But are you sure it is not Economy plus ticket you got rather than economy for that high price? Just a thought.

Speaking of airlines, American Airlines is one of the worst. They have the 26" CRT monitors hanging 30 feet away, real cramped and old as dirt.. not just planes.. and crappy service.. but once we got switched to Jet airways(Indian) in Brussels.. It was awesome.. and I hear its comparable to business class on soem other airlines..Cool new planes, great customer service. So if any of you can check it out I am sure you enjoy it as much as we did. (NO I dont work for them nor own their stock). And Brussels is their European Hub.

Hey VJ,

I did some flights with Jet Airways to, from and in India and I must say that they are one of the best airlines I used. On the other hand they are not really cheap.
This time I chose BA over Jet because I'm fed up with arriving in India in the middle of the night. BA brings me there around noon wich will be more relaxing.

I didn't cancel my BA tickets to buy new cheaper ones as they seemed to be sold out very fast (or maybe it was just an advertising stunt) and with the cancellation fee I wouldn't do much profit anyway.

Anyway, I'll soon be in India again, that's the most important !

Cheers

Thanks for that. That's around the same as what I found but it works out to the same as booking through an agent.

Yeah, I'm flying with Jet this time as well.
Their internal flights are the best I've had.
And now they hook up with Qantas to go to Dehli.

Well, My experience is that Air France has the best champagne and food, even in cattle class!!!!! I personally LIKE Air France! I use it to fly Paris - Chennai - Paris and there are screens in the back of the chairs...

Air France are in the process of upgrading their planes, and I have heard that the new planes are excellent, but unfortunately for the Delhi run they are still using planes which are outdated and cramped.

This probably explains their exceptionally low prices for that service.

Yeah, it's not the same when they bring out a tin bucket of swill and a couple of tin mugs.. Snork.
In terms of luxury, the best I've had was Air Emirates. They almost suck up to you, nothing was a bother.
But you pay through the nose.
