tiger air are doing cheap flights to india, to chennai and kochi from australia and i was real excited about it but when i want to return, there are no flights so that bursts my bubble a bit! so i can get there at a really good price but i would have to fly back with another airline.

HI,
I m from Chile and I'll be going to Delhi in the next few months. I was wondering if you know any cheap flights from Chile (SCL) or at least from Southamerica, but NOT via US, as the transit visa procedure is expensive and takes ages. Any ideas will be appreciated Linda_Ishtar |

So I got everything approved for my internship in Chennai!
Now it's time to book a flight...Anyway, I'm on a college student's budget, so right now it looks like my options via Orbitz are Delta/Kingfisher, or Jet. The latter seems like my best option: $1250 AirIndia is cheap, but it seems like people here have had bad experiences. Opinions? Last edited by cyhiraeth : May 11th, 2008 at 03:52. |

International Flights
Going from NYC to Chennai the end of January and have found a wide range of round trip prices. Air India is the cheapest at $1070. Luftansa quotes $2032. However, there is a site called Make My Trip - Your India Specialist -- they quote $1562. Has anyone done bussiness with them? I am helping to organize a group to go for about two weeks and am nervous about being responsible should anythng go wrong. If it were just me I could wing it.
Thanks, Anne |

As well as FinnAir (via Helsinki), BA, Jet Airways or Kingfisher are now offering direct flights at this price (about 350 sterling0 from LHR to Delhi, Bombay and a few other places.
From Delhi to UK is about 24,000 return, including all taxes and charges. |

I have to travel to sydney. From there to Dehli or Mumbai.
I checked out tiger , but they aren't any cheaper from the east coast. My friends from Ireland got a flight from Sri lanka to darwin for 85 english pounds last year, but they didn't realise how far darwin is from anywhere. I told 'em to go to Perth, but they thought Darwin was close to Sydney!!. |

I did a search last night(Midnight GMT) & found a return from Glasgow(Scotland) to Delhi via Amsterdam for £304. 21,280Rps(roughly), including medium haul carbon offset payment. Is this normal for this time of year folks? For x1 pax with KLM both legs.

flightcentre.ca (for flights from Canada)
Just wanted to put in a good word for http://flightcentre.ca for flights from Canada. I did a fair bit of searching for our trip to India in April and Flightcentre offered the cheapest airfares from Vancouver by far (and on Cathay Pacific to boot!) Granted, we are flying one-way, so I didn't do a RT search, but no other travel website came close to matching what we ended up paying.

3 of us booked from Glasgow to Chennai for £1149(£383 each) inc of fees and taxes. Short stops in Dubai both ways. Pretty decent fare and hassle free booking. |

Australia has always suffered from the tyranny of distance.
We're just a long way from anything except S.E Asia. We pay a lot more for airfares. India is a fifteen hour flight from Sydney, without stops. Coming back it's 23 hours. But the fares are plummeting in price. I got a fare yesterday, incl. of taxes and all for 1200 aus. dollars. That's about 590 pounds. This is pretty cheap, and with qantas, which is okay. |

Booked return flights for two adults with Gulf Air yesterday. London-Delhi via Bahrain. Fly out late July, return late August. Long transfer (6 hours) but very cheap at £287 per person. Found the same prices through Travelocity and kayak.co.uk
