[quote=Haylo;690977]Here is a totally offtopic (to India at least) tip for Brits; the discount supermarket Lidl is a German company and at Christmas they stocks fantastic quality German chocolate and chocolates at very cheap prices. Almonds coated with cinnamon chocolate are one of my favourites.

Something I brought back at Xmas was Lindt chocolate coated almonds/macadamia nuts/hazelnuts - the chocolate has different flavours -milk, dark, very dark, and spiced or not-there are several variations. They're fantastic and beatifully packaged and make an excellent component to Xmas gift packages.

Another chocolate I like is white chocolate flavoured with rhubarb of the Fedora brand.

I'll have to stop this.
When I typed in my user name I put "Lindt" instead of 'domimoes'.....

This thread is driving me to distraction.

Couldn't we have an argument about the Aryan invasion?

...or something?

...or anything else but fine chocolate!

My cats would agree with you on that. Luckily they did not hear you, as they are both fast asleep. They are in what I call a Fishfull sleep!

The are really hard to come by, even in Europe as I think they're only made in Italy and they're definitely only manufactured during the winter months - they're not on sale at any other time, which is a great shame. I first found them at an airport in Italy and tried to find out how to get more when I got home. Apparently transport problems with the heat of summer makes them impossible to distribute.

A whole shot of expresso coffee in one chocolate... I have one left and I'm looking at it right now!
I'm just back from France and popped into Monte Carlo for a pizza.
In the Casino supermarket there I saw Pocket Coffees but they were in the drinks section and the packet claimed to contain 2x 160ml expresso shots price eu 1.60.
Was I hallucinating?
(it was a gorgonzola and speck pizza.....)

Quite possibly!

If it was in the drinks section, it probably wasn't "Pocket Coffee" you saw, that's a long thin box containing five coffee filled chocolates, what you saw might have been "Pocket Espresso" which is a liquid. Wouldn't be 160ml though, they're nowhere near that size, see photo.

That was probably the stuff.
I get confused about coffee as I don't actually drink the stuff by choice.
The tea was confusing enough.
The Darjeeling teabags at breakfast in my hotel at Nice were made of Calico , I'd never ever seen teabags which were actually made of cloth before!

Yeah, I've had that "pocket espresso".
Surprised they don't sell it in the UK.

Great stuff on a long journey, if you're driving, anyway!

Some time back I saw good chocolate in Hyderabad. It was a german collaboration. Don't worry about the price. Chocolate is a health food, anti-oxidents and good for the heart. Its my duty to eat chocolate. That is what I tell my spouse..
