Unhappy Help With Travel Information!!

Hello Im Patriccia from Mexico Im 23 years old I just got my Indian Visa and I bought my tickets from Mexico to New York and then from JFK to Delhi with Jet Airways...I've some questions.

I bought my ticket JFK to Delhi and 3 weeks later a ticket from Delhi to Kathmandu Nepal....I called Jet Airways and they told me it's OK just to have that onward ticket in order to enter the country.....but some people tell me I necessarily have to have a round ticket back to Mexico....I'm kinda nervous, because what if by the phone Jet Airways told me it's OK just with that ticket and when I get to JFK they tell me I need to have a round tickets in order to board....so I'd like to know what you think, people that have already travelled there.

And also.....is there some vaccine requirement in order to enter India? Or is that just a choice to get some vaccine or not?

I'd be looking forward for your answer Thanks a lot

Paty

You've already got Visa ? Why will they not allow you to board ?

You don't need a round trip ticket to enter India. When you check in at JFK they'll just check to see you have a valid passport and visa, and they'll do the same when you arrive in Delhi.

The Indian authorities do not care what you do when you leave India, whether you go back to Mexico, or travel on to Nepal. All they are interested in is whether or not you comply with the terms of your visa.

If you have visited countries which have certain nasty diseases (Yellow Fever is one I think) you need a vaccination certificate to enter India, but I doubt Mexico is one of those countries, so uness you've been anywhere exotic lately you'll be okay.

Obviously there are basic vaccinations that everyone should have anyway like tetanus and polio, but for India others such as typhoid are highly recommended. Malaria is a concern too, depending on which area you are travelling to.

Recommendations vary widely, you really do need to discuss your plans with a health professional at a travel clinic.

Have a read of this thread Patzy:

One Way Flight??

I can't help you re the question whether you will be asked at JFK for return ticket to Mexico, but I suspect they won't. I think they would only be interested in a valid ticket to your next destination.

Mod Note: Patzy would you please not use any SMS text words here - the language of our Forum is standard English with all words spelled out in full. Also there is no need to put a capital for every word in your post! It makes it rather tiring for us to decipher.
