delhi airport procedures - confused

I will be fly on Jet Airways from NY to Nepal via New Dehli (I have a 10 hour layover and am not planning on leaving the airport since I didnt get a visa)

I have read conflicting info regarding my checked bags, do I need to reclaim my bags in Delhi and then recheck them in again in Delhi even if they are suppose to be checked all the way through to Nepal on Jet airways?

Since I am transiting Dehli airport, am I restricted to only the visitor/transit area or can I walk throughout the terminal as long as I don't go through customs?

Can you tell me where the visitor/transit area is located?

If I am restricted to the transit area, are there places to eat there?

Will they come and get you when it is time to go to your gate?

Thanks in advance for your assistance with my questions.

The airline people should be able to answer your question...check their website and write to them. I am sure they will reply in a day or two.

My take : Since you dont have a visa, there is no way you can get out to reclaim your baggage. You would restricted to the transit area and your baggage will go through straight.
