Cleartrip Experience

Hi, hope this is in the right forum. There are 2 reasons for sharing my experience with booking a flight UK-Mumbai on Cleartrip, to see if anyone else has had anything similar and as a cautionary tale for others.
I booked a flight online, outside office hours, got an immediate email saying "Booking Failed" and that my card had been charged but I'd get a full refund within 24 hours. So I booked the same flight on the airline's own website, successfully.
Next morning I had an email from Cleartrip saying they had confirmed my ticket. I mailed back with a c&p of their first mail, said I'd like the refund thank you very much. I got no response to that but contacted them through the website and am now in dialogue with them and I've also been in touch with my credit card people... that's the story so far, I'll update as and when.

Oh jees what a pain in the proverbial.
I've only used them for train bookings and have so far never had any problem.
Hope you get it sorted out.Hang in there.

Yea, the train bookings I've made through them have always been fine.
Well, they've been back in touch to tell me I should get a refund within 1 to 2 weeks. Longer than the 24 hrs they said first up and anyway it's obviously not settled until the whole amount is back with me but they do seem to be dealing with it.

The final chapter brings a happy ending, refund received in full from Cleartrip, next task is to book my train tickets through them :-)
