Cheapest airline from Bangkok to India

Just curious if anyone could give me some information about going to see the Taj Mahl from Bangkok. I will be in Thailand next March and I would love to go to India for a couple of days to see the Taj Mahl.

After doing some research I found out that the visa will cost me about 75.00 US dollars and that I need to mail the form to the NY location. This is because its the closest branch to me. The Taj Mahl is located in the city of Argra however I am having a hard time locating flights that go there. So I might have to book a flight to Delhi instead and then take a tour to get to Agra.

If anyone has any information on what airline is good for cheap tickets, what tours are good and any other helpful information I would love to hear from you. The only airline that is not bad on prices is Jet Airways. If there isn't any time difference from Thailand and India then I am showing that is only about a 4 hour flight!

It has always been a dream of mine to see go there and I think next March I will make it a reality!

No direct flights Bangkok - Agra. Try the bucket shops around the backpacker districts - cheap flights to major metro can be sourced there.

Hi! For Delhi-Bangkok or Calcutta-Bangkok flights, and in the opposite direction of course, Bangladesh Biman used to be the cheapest, although sometimes you have to wait long hours in Dakha or sometimes spend a night between flights there, and even paying for that night it was the cheapest solution. If my memory doesn't fail me this was still the case last year, somebody told me the price of a Delhi-Bangkok with Biman and I was really surprised, much cheaper than what I had found myself surfing the net.

There is a fair bit on competition on Bangkok-India routes so you should be able to find a good fare. Air India, Jet Airways, and Thai Airways all fly from Bangkok to Delhi direct, so I would start with these airlines (especially the last two).

If you aren't planning to travel until March, it might be worth your while to wait for a seat sale or promotion before buying. There have been some very attractive fares advertised recently on this route, although I am not sure they will be of much use to your plans (most current deals run out in Sept.) Then again, if you see a good fare on a good flight, the peace of mind is worth any savings you might make from waiting.

Try the website for Air India Express which serves SE Asia. The cost for a flight in Aug 09 is 3233 THB, Bangkok to Kolcatta. One of the domestic carriers will get you to Delhi cheap enough.

Even Cathay pacific flies that route - but it'd be not much cheaper i'd guess

Keep an eye out for Air Asia starting up that route late this year. They always seem to be way cheaper then anyone else and will have huge sales to start it off. In fact you might pay little more then a few dollars + tax

Really it doesn't make any sense to book one flight for almost 100 US dollars and then have to pay for another flight just to get to Delphi. I am sure if I keep my eyes open I will be able to get a deal on either Jet Airways, Air India or Thai Airways.
