Carrying aritficial bouquet in carryon

Does anyone know if it is an issue to carry an artificial bouquet(made of plastic) in the carry-on luggage?

Thanks for your reply. Real relief. You know how security can be picky in the US, I just thought because it may have pointed plastic ends.

Edwardseco may not know this from personal experience. My first answer would also have been "why should it be a problem" - but with those pointed ends... these days you just never know what check-in staff considers dangerous.

Check out the changes for knitting needles and nail clippers for example. I doubt these flowers show up in a list of prohibited items! If we become paranoid, as Arun Shourie pointed out, it internalizes authoritarianism. Having said this I was big time hassled by a non English speaking recently hired (probably illegal immigrant) security guard at an airport for having a laser light. He thought it was some sort of weapon, maybe ray gun. So maybe its conceivable you could be planning to take over a plane with the threat of whacking people over the head with a bouquet of flowers. I would be intimidated by such a threat with some people's underwear..

I just packed my flowers in a box with bubble wrap and checked it in to avoid any problems with security. It came just fine without any damage.

It is just a bouquet made of artificial flowers but had pointed ends towards the stem all tapped off. I was just worried our Sherlock Holmes at the airports will ask me to check it in.

I was under the impression that FL was capital-central for pink pants and fake flowers and cheezy flamingos
