Best way to get from Mumbai domestic terminal to international terminal?

What is the easiest and safest way to get from Mumbai Domestic terminal to International terminal (early evening). Is some kind of shuttle service (arranged by the airlines) available, or are the taxis my only option. The flight reaching me there may be either Jet Air or Kingfisher.

If the taxi is my only option, what is the procedure and how much would it cost?

I remember someone saying "Get in the taxi and tell the driver the location. Never tell any one outside the taxi where you have to go". Whats all this about?

Remember: Domestic to International. Not the other way round

There is a free bus to International airport you dont have to walk out of the domestic terminal . You will see the signs about the bus when you pick up your luggage .

nordy. I am not sure about that but as long as domestic flights are still coming in the shuttle bus should be still running to the international . I just read that shuttle runs 24 hours a day .

Airport to Airport: A Free shuttle bus is available between the Intl and Domestic Terminals hourly 24 hrs a day. It also connects the 2 domestic terminals every 15 mins 0400-0000. However this bus is for air ticket holders only, and those people without tickets must take a tax
