Baggage allowance questions

Hi,
I am a student (from Bangalore) going to study in Finland this August. Could folks here please let me know what is the cheapest way to get extra baggage to my destination. Most airlines I contacted seem to allow only 1 piece of 23 Kg baggage in checkin which is woefully inadequate (especially for a 2 year stay abroad).

In your situation I would put on as many warm and bulky clothes as possible before you enter the plane. I wonder though if you can even buy the clothes necessary for Finland in Kerala. I can't answer your question re excess baggage, but maybe others will have experiences with this.

I vaguely remember, I dont know which airline; had a special allowance for students going for higher studies. Check Air India, Jetairways extra baggage policies.

Since you are going to be a student Do rest of the research. Look at the Total Cost of Travel, rather than just excess baggage fees.
