Baggage Allowance : International and then Domestic
Hi
I am taking flight from London to Delhi and then IndiGo flight from Delhi to Ahmedabad.
Now my problem is my London to Delhi leg is Business Class so I am allowed 96kg as baggage but my domestic ticket says that I am only allowed 20kg.
I checked different forums which said that if you travel International and then domestic within 24 Hours then you are permitted your original baggage allowance. (Which in my case is true)
Nothing is available on IndiGo website regarding this.
Can someone help me out?
Thank you,
Regards,
Dhaval

Indigo is a LCC a.k.a Low Cost Carrier. Normally low cost carriers are loath to honor any tie ups which impede revenue streams. Well since you are flying Business, and chose not to put domestic on the same PNR, you will pay Rs200/kg excess baggage
I was asking around for the same thing a few days back and have been told clearly that on domestic we need to pay 200/kg for every kg over 20 (the allowed limit). However it seems like it also depends on your luck at check-in, some folks have been able to take on an extra piece of baggage with some pleading and whining at the check-in counters.
BTW if you can afford it, why not book a costlier domestic airline (instead of the low cost carrier like IndiGo) with a premiere class seat, that should allow more baggage or at least they would be more receptive to your whining

Thanks mate for your reply. I will have to apply some drama techniques to get my way. The only reason I had to go with IndiGo was that airline has minimum stopover time. Cheers !!!!
