Arriving in Delhi at 6am
Hi All,
My wife and I are embarking on a three month tour of India in september, its our first time so a little nervous but very excited. Anyway, our flight in to Delhi arrives at 6am, after customs etc we are expecting to be ready to leave the airport at about 7ish. We are going to book a hotel for that night with airport pick up but obviously its going to be very early, does anyone know if is very common for a hotel to still pick us up at this time and allow us to either check in or leave our bags so we can get some food? We haven't booked anywhere yet as we wanted to do it a bit nearer the time. Thanks |

It doesnt matter my friend. You get radio taxi service called Easy Cabs - trustworthy guys. (just before departure - follow the signs for radio taxi).
They'll be way cheaper than an airport pickup. You can look up your hotel (or IM/LP reviews) and ask them to let you checkin early, or hold your luggage. Have a good time and welcome to delhi

Just to add, 6 AM is when (much of) India is well and truly waking up, much less 7 or 8 when you'll be out. No worries indeed
(It's a very nice time of day actually, seeing the country rising to another day in the freshness of morning.)Beyond that, hotels the word over don't tend to mind you checking in at no matter what godforsaken hour, it's in their interest to rent you that room after all (may involve some waking up the poor bellboy, of course). So again, should rarely be a problem. Certainly when contacted ahead, they'll likewise and usually make arrangements for you at any hour.
