Amsterdam - Goa? Charters? Where? How?

Hi All,

I am trying to find a charter that flies from the Netherlands to Goa direct. Any suggestions?

On the web I found a press release saying Arkefly would do this but on their website I can not find anything about it.

If there are no direct flights from the Netherlands, I guess the other two options are Germany with Condor but that seem as expensive as a ticket with a normal airline via either Mumbai or Delhi. The other option is via the UK, correct?

Are there any others? Can anybody recommend a certain charter from any European country?

Thanks a lot for any suggestions.

I think you already have a place to stay in Goa, is that correct?

There are sometimes some good charter deals at the very start or the very end of the season, but other than that I think the Mumbai option is normally the cheapest (and most flexible).

Thanks for the suggestions.

The flight is for my elderly mother (if she reads this she will never speak to me again ) and I was hoping that I could save her a stop-over. Her trip would be from early February until the end of the month, so during the tourist season I thought there may be some charters

But if it is not possible I probably will have to I pick her up in Mumbai.

One day, I will convince Vijay Mallya that a regular Kingfisher flight Nice - Goa would be great as he has houses at both ends, it would bring in all the Russians who holiday at both places and would suit me too .

Probably cheaper to fly from London.

Let me know if your mother is traveling through London, I know the transport options really well and can suggest the easiest route/connections between airports.

The main problem with London is that the budget flights normally arrive at the smaller airports, but the (long distance) International flights depart from either Heathrow or Gatwick.

If traveling via London, also consider Stanstead and Luton airports if you can get a really good price.

Luton to Gatwick is very easy, a direct train.
Luton to Heathrow - one change, including stairs.
Stanstead to Gatwick - 2 changes, including stairs.
Stanstead to Heathrow - 2 changes, including stairs, though one of the changes is just a 10 metre (same level) walk.

Hi Stev,

Thanks a lot for the offer. I think she would prefer to change in London rather than in Mumbai or Delhi as that involves about 6 to 8 hours waiting. Any ideas about charters leaving from the UK to Goa.

Of course I tried Google but not with great results.

I learned that there are charters which fly to Goa from Gatwick and Manchester but not which companies. There are also references that charters fly from the Netherlands and Germany but, apart from expensive Condor, I found no booking sites or telephone numbers. Normal travel sites, like Expedia, do not seem to list charters flights.

I have never used a charter but I thought their raison d'etre was that they fly from point to point without stops and that they tend to be very cheap.
I know lots fly to Goa but somehow they elude me and Google
Perhaps it is because this is not the tourist season? But I thought you had to book them months in advance so that does not make sense either.

Not discounting the possibility that am missing the obvious, I was hoping somebody on IM may have used them or know more about it.

Do you have KLM's prices with that Boefje?

Birds, I've lost if she's in Germany or wherever but I assume a decent local travel agent should have the info, about departures from elsewhere too.

Amsterdam/ Goa

Ha Mach, now you ask me?? This was only to find out if there were flights from Amsterdam to Goa and yes there are

According to the itinerary I get a quote of Euro 286,18 cents. You can get a PTA (prepaid ticket) issued from India even for flights originating from Amsterdam. I have done that for my mum and sis who flew in from India to Ams. I hope this works out. Lufthansa and Air France fly to Goa too.

Good luck Birds!!

check out this link...it is all in Dutch but perhaps you could get the same (similar) rate from http://www.klm.com.

Here is the sample price list from www.cheaptickets.nl (all in Dutch). Let me know (or perhaps the real Dutchies would help out) should you need translation.

Vluchttarieven per persoon (Tariff per person)

KLM-Royal Dutch Airlines (147,00 EUR + 139,18 EUR) 286,18 EUR

Lufthansa German Airlines (149,00 EUR + 141,86 EUR) 290,86 EUR

Air France (150,00 EUR + 111,26 EUR) 261,26 EUR

Air France (150,00 EUR + 111,26 EUR) 261,26 EUR

Air France (150,00 EUR + 139,18 EUR) 289,18 EUR

Air France (150,00 EUR + 139,18 EUR) 289,18 EUR

KLM-Royal Dutch Airlines (150,00 EUR + 167,10 EUR) 317,10 EUR

Air France (150,00 EUR + 167,10 EUR) 317,10 EUR
