Air China, Baggage limit? Canada to Delhi.

Hi,

I'm flying with Air China from Vancouver, Canada to Delhi via Beijing. What's the checked in baggage weight limit?
There website says 20kg, my travel agent says its 32kg per checked in luggage. Most other airlines have 32kg per baggage. What's the correct limit for Air China? Anyone recently travelled on it, any tips?

thanks.

I would say 20kg (Per Person) .... from my experience most airlines (Except when flying from the US) have a 20kg limit for Economy class.

I am flying from the North America (vancouver, Canada) to Asia (Delhi, India via Beijing). Other airline sites ( even other Chinese airlines like China Eastern Airline, China Airline,..etc) mentions 32kg (70lb). Air China needs to update their site.

Just check your ticket. Somewhere at the end of the line of flight info, it shud say "PC" or "20K". It shud be "PC" if Air China is an IATA member - I'm guessing they are, altho not sure.
In that case u are allowed 2 pcs of check-in baggage, each not to exceed 32 kg. So in effect u can carry 64 kg.
For extra bags checked in, they are allowed to charge u per bag (it's a round-sum, not per kg). For more details, just call them in Canada.

I've flown with Air China many times in the past few years, and I've always been told the limit is 20kg.

The point is that a flight out of North America is treated differently..

Note that some people forget that a stopover longer than 72 hours invokes the lower limit! Saw this with madcap results in Hong Kong. Then one day I checked in at 73 hours and sweat large but for the kindness of an official..

Or go to the sourcehttp://www.airchina.com.cn/Passenger...ult.shtml#zmzj..

My flight got delayed / changed, was supposed to leave at 12:50pm but now its leaving at 12:30am next day (night). They changed the airline to China Airline. Now I fly Vancouver - Taipei - Delhi. I'm sitting at the airport. Airlines gave me $10 vouchers for lunch and dinner.

Anyhow, during check-in with Air China I asked about baggage weight limits etc for economy class on Vancouver - Delhi (via Beijing ) flight, they said I'm allowed to carry 32 kg / checked in luggage. So the information on their website is incorrect. I called several numbers and all told me 20kg limit except my travel agent who said 32 kg.

Air China is cheap, they can't afford to update/correct the info on their website.

Dilliwala:
There is no mention of "PC" or "20k" or "32k" on my ticket or on checked in tags.

32 conforms to current US practice. The airlines complained that heavier bags were a danger to their personnel. Of course, its also hazarous to their bottom line at current gasoline costs. On some airlines they have eliminated magazines in order to save weight..
