Air Canada discontinues flights to India
Air Canada to end daily flights to India
AGENCIES[ SATURDAY, FEBRUARY 17, 2007 10:20:18 AM] MONTREAL: Air Canada on Friday announced plans to discontinue its daily flights to India starting in May, citing insufficient demand for the route. Canada's leading carrier currently offers one daily flight from Toronto to New Delhi, with a stopover in Zurich, but it has been unable to break even on the route, particularly during the summer. http://economictimes.indiatimes.com/...ws/1630537.cms |

Wake-up and smell the chai Air Canada and don't gouge so much - Indians are extremely thrifty when it comes to air travel - it's not like the market is not there for you - must be a million+ NRI in GTA alone. If you need a strategic plan to make the route work - apply right here! ![]()

You got that right PeakXV - and it's not only Indians that think AC's prices to India are a joke. Their wonderful in-flight service is not worth $600 more than Aeroflot!

We took that Air Canada flight (ticket sold by Swiss) for the sake of the smaller plane. At the time the flight was cheaper than any except Air India's. The plane was packed. It was winter, though. Food on the outbound: really good, I thought. Security in Zurich was unusually hellish, however. Food on the inbound: terrible; in fact I'm wondering if I can't blame my ongoing gastrointestinal problems on the plane food, since I dropped my caution. And Swiss found a way of charging us a rebooking fee on the inbound. Long story, but unjustified. I don't know about Air Canada, but I'd avoid Swiss! They're much too intent on profits--at the expense of customer relations.

Air Canada removed one olive from it's dinner saving overall $200,00 Cdn. a year. They were also going to strip away the white paint on some of the airplanes to reduce drag thus saving on fuel.

The Indo-Canadian community is very upset at Air Canada's decision.
