Well, it's also a Paradise-flycatcher. Size is ~Bulbul, 20Cms. It could either be a adult female or a young male (juvenile).

I heard about Tadoba and Pench Tiger reserves and not about Nagzira Tiger Reserve. Can you please mention how to get there and what wildlife you've seen. Also, mention where did you stay and how much time did you spend. I've never seen a Paradise-flycatcher and looks like this place is not too far from Hyderabad.
Hats off to RWeHavingFunYet.

Sorry for miss guiding all of you. I have seen the birds in Kolsa Range of Tadoba-Andhari Tiger Reserve. Actually I completed the safari of Nagzira and Tadoba one after another. That is why I was little bit confused and gave the wrong location. I am extremely sorry. From next time I will take extra care to post anything. This is my commitment.

No problem, deban... we all make mistakes; some of us quite often!

Question for the experts: do young tailor birds lack the colouring of the adults? I saw a couple of birds through the window today, and the looked like tailor birds, but did not have the redish colour on the head.

Wait a minute, I thought you're one of the experts on the panel here.

Yes, young tailor birds lack the rust-coloured crown and the whitish underparts.

Does the l i t t l e .. f e l l o w look like this?

Good grief, no... I just look out of the kitchen window from time to time!

No, not at all. They (there were two) looked quite a lot older. None of that wide-beaked where-am-I chick look, and nothing like that colour: fairly neutral all over.

Here is a new one, taken from the office window. Is it a young of something, eagle or kite perhaps?

This I cannot tell for sure, let RW come up with something.

Btw RW, where is noriko? Hmmm, on second thoughts, seems like you somehow know that it’s my age to go on Sanyas... not to look at beautiful women

It's a S h i k r a -- juvenile. 35Cms. Male or female will be known later, as it grows up with more features.

Well, it is not near Hyderabad, but I've seen Paradise-flycatchers in broad daylight in Yercaud, -- no bird sanctuary, no forest reserve either, in fact not too far from human habitat! I found Yercaud to be a bird lovers' paradise, with gardens full of Greater Racket-tailed Drongos, hills reverberating with Barbet calls (actually that gets a little irritating, -- like Vuvuzelas ), and so on ....

Greater Racket-tailed Drongos,
I think I saw them in Alleppey last week: tails like rackets, yes? And a cry that sounds more like a cat than a bird!

We had Coppersmith Barbet living near our old house. It is a very beautiful bird, but that call... I thought it was a rusty pump handle, and could not believe it when my wife told me it was a bird! So I call them pump birds. pump! pump! pump! is like what they say, too!
