Thanks, writersblock! But those birds are to be thanked, too, for their patience and bravery! Even after seeing me stand there - right in front of them, they took their time to check if I would be of any harm to them!!

A video clip of these birds here - Valparai Topslip - Spotted owlets. Not a very proffessional one, but still !

PS: Check out the expression of one particular owlet (3rd from left)!

Naveena, I would rate this as one of my top picks in bird photography, beautifully captured!

After more than a month, I saw Mr. RBP inspecting the place which I felt he and his missus had used last year for nesting. Time to keep a watch on his activities, AGAIN, I suppose!!

The conversation goes like this...

Mr RBP: Look, just let her watch, and let us continue with coochie cooing!
Mrs RBP: You have a sick mind!

And now we know the reason, and the person, behind the dwindling population of the poor bird!

Seems like RBP & his expressions will be under major scrutiny, henceforth!

If only I could keep a check on 'Human population'!

About Mr. RBP, he is very mean...infact, it is Mrs. RBP who would tell him...Look, just let her watch, and let us continue with coochie cooing . And BTW Mr. RBP wants to convey his regards to you! He is flattered that you understand him so well .

I am flattered JuliaF, thank you so much ! That is so sweet of you. RBP is a celebrity on IM!! Surely we will have more photographs of him and his friends once the monsoon subsides here in Mumbai.

Till then, I have another wonderful creature's photograph to share . I had this golden opportunity to see 'Atlas Moth' in wild, thanks to the Mr. Sunil Limaye, Chief conservator of forest & on Mr. Jagdish Vakale, Naturalist at Sanjay Gandhi National Park! I am told that it is the largest Moth in the world. It was a thrilling experience!

here it is 'Atlas Moth'.

Wow! I don't think I have ever seen a live atlas moth, not even in a butterfly park or zoo. They really are big!

Oh yes, even the one I saw was pretty big. It had emerged just a few hours before I had gone to see it. I was told that it would stay there till sunset and would fly away. Just today I got to know that as informed, by evening the moth took to it's wings. I would have loved to see it fly here and there...but!

Well Nick-H, if you like to watch a small video clip I took when I was there, you can check it out here - Atlas Moth - at Sanjay Gandhi National Park. 01 September, 2012

Yes, Ofcourse!

Or else he will have to face competition from this fellow. He seems to be going through bad times but looks can be deceptive
